Onyx Renewable Partners L.P. (“Onyx”), a Blackstone portfolio company, is an integrated renewable energy development and investment company that develops, acquires and owns energy projects primarily within the solar generation and storage sectors in North America. Job Description

Onyx is seeking an analyst to join its Strategy and Finance group. The relatively small size of this group offers analysts the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the firm and to have exposure to external transaction counterparties. Onyx seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intellectually curious, and have demonstrated high performance in their previous professional and academic endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have solid communication skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively, and a desire to work in a team environment, often under pressure.

Timing: Immediate

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct and coordinate financial analyses, due diligence and presentations to facilitate making important investment decisions

  • Provide analytical and execution support for debt and tax equity transactions, interfacing with the project and business development teams on structural and technical elements of projects

  • Assist in preparation of investment memoranda on potential acquisitions and divestitures

  • Adapt quickly and appropriately in accordance with the continuing evolution of the firm and the renewable energy industry

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance or economics

  • Minimum 1-2 years of (i) project finance experience with a developer / investment firm in the renewable energy space or (ii) corporate/investment banking experience in real assets, infrastructure, or power & utilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated competency in credit modeling

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational and people skills

  • Firm understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and financial accounting

  • Intellectual curiosity and the confidence to interact with the firm’s senior leadership
